Recovering Missing Data on Satellite Images
نویسندگان
چکیده
Data Assimilation is commonly used in environmental sciences to improve forecasts, obtained by meteorological, oceanographic or air quality simulation models, with observation data. It aims to solve an evolution equation, describing the dynamics, and an observation equation, measuring the mis t between the state vector and the observations, to get a better knowledge of the actual system's state, named the reference. In this article, we describe how to use this technique to recover missing data and reduce noise on satellite images. The recovering process is based on assumptions on the underlying dynamics displayed by the sequence of images. This is a promising alternative to methods such as space-time interpolation. In order to better evaluate our approach, results are rst quanti ed for an arti cial noise applied on the acquisitions and then displayed for real data.

Recovering Method of Missing Data Based on Proposed Modified Kalman Filter When Time Series of Mean Data is Known
Recovering method of missing data based on the proposed modified Kalman filter for the case that the time series of mean data is know is proposed. There are some cases of which although a portion of data is missing, mean value of the time series of data is known. For instance, although coarse resolution of imagery data are acquired every day, fine resolution of imagery data are missing sometime...
متن کاملNon-destructive Method for Estimating Biomass of Plants Using Digital Camera Images
Abstract Plant growth and biomass assessments are required in production and research. Such assessments are followed by major decisions (e.g., harvest timing) that channel resources and influence outcomes. In research, resources required to assess crop status affect other aspects of experimentation and, therefore, discovery. Destructive harvests are important because they influence treatment s...
متن کاملIntroduction and Assessment of Measures for Quantitative Model-Data Comparison Using Satellite Images
Satellite observations of the oceans have great potential to improve the quality and predictive power of numerical ocean models and are frequently used in model skill assessment as well as data assimilation. In this study we introduce and compare various measures for the quantitative comparison of satellite images and model output that have not been used in this context before. We devised a ser...
متن کاملCorrelation Analysis and Analysis of Drought Time Series Based on Modis Satellite Images and Standardized Precipitation Climatic Index (SPI) on the eastern slope of Zagros
Introduction Drought is one of the environmental disasters that is very frequent in arid and semi-arid regions of the country. Rainfall defects have different effects on groundwater, soil moisture, and river flow. Meteorological drought indices are calculated directly from meteorological data such as rainfall and will not be useful in monitoring drought if the data are missing. Therefore remot...
متن کاملCoastal water quality assessment based on the remotely sensed water quality index using time series of satellite images
This study was conducted with the aim of providing a remotely sensed water quality index in Assaluyeh port using remote sensing technology. so, according to the region conditions, studying of scientific resources and access to satellite data, the parameters of heavymetals, dissolved ions, SST, chlorophyll-a and pH were selected. Then, by reviewing sources, the product MYD091km, MYD021km, MOD02...
